After the Masaryk circuit, the fastest motorbikes of the world will be rushing from Friday to Sunday. But now there are forklifts, tractors, trucks and fire trucks on the Brno railroad.

There are three days left to MotoGP and the whole area needs to be prepared. “We adjust the track and take care of it continuously, because there are about ten races a year. However, preparations are the biggest before the Grand Prix, ”says Petr Boháč, spokesman for Automotodrom Brno.

In the current heat, routine routine routers are turning into painters, and orange overalls are replaced with lightweight, airy clothing. Among them is Michaela Foralová.

“Our two three-member groups are painting a part of the curbs green. The color of the silicon particles is mixed so that it is coarser. When the racer approaches it, the machine is not prone to skidding, ”Foralová explains. Other colleagues paint tricolor – that is, white, red and blue squares on the border of the track. “The colors don’t change, we just overwhelm them to be brilliant for a big race. We renewed them this year to the superbike races, two months ago. But the tires left visible traces on them, ”Boháč notes, adding that if the paint spills onto the track, firefighters must come and wash the stain.

Bikers park more comfortably on the practice track

However, the coloring and painting of lines is far from the only preparatory work on the Masaryk Circuit.Grass is cut around the track, and temporary workers removed pebble islands from inappropriate weeds. Special machines, similar to those of the road, clean tire tracks from previous races.

In bends, in stabling boxes and in other selected locations, groups of men are building so-called parcels. They resemble tires, but are made of special material. It is non-flammable, cushioned and as safe as possible. In addition to the audience, boxes of about eight meters in length have separate compressors. “The bales are self-inflating, so there is no risk of being emptied of heat,” the speaker assures.

Asphalt is commonly found in joints. Even those need to be wiped out before the training rounds. The worker of the circuit uses a special resin to fill them, under which the small and larger grooves gradually disappear. Two more significant cracks are waiting to be sealed this week, the others have already been cloaked. These can significantly affect not only the attendance, but also the conditions for parking motorbikes and visitors’ cars. The surfaces must therefore be reinforced and guarded, employing a large number of people elsewhere at one point. Moreover, for motorcyclists the organizers have a novelty. They will now park their two-wheeled pets on the practice track, the polygon.

“The vast majority of them go to nature. Previously they had to pace, it was far.Now they have more convenient parking and also closer to the helmet storage, ”Boháč points out, as opposed to earlier parking opposite the main grandstand. viewers like water and electricity as a small town

Most of the fast-moving fans will watch the racers from the natural stands and hillsides. Even those who find their seats on high-rise stands will not be covered. The seats are always built just before the Grand Prix.

According to Boháč, this is not a time-consuming job. It’s worse with cleaning after the races. “Temporary workers collect garbage in the roasters. It takes two days to clear the entire area, ”says the spokeswoman.

While cleaning jobs can still be reported, no one will intervene in the preparations. Capacity is full – about fifty people are helping out on the circuit in the last week.

Thousands of people are directly involved in the organization at the Grand Prix. The exact number, however, Boháč refuses to estimate.

“A lot of them are over the agencies, we don’t have exact numbers,” he says, saying the organizers are mainly communicating via radio during the races. “People here will consume water and electricity in three days as a small town. From Žebětín we have a cistern that regularly loads water. For example, the air-conditioning of each of the teams and the promoter’s background will be reflected in the energy, ”Boháč points out. They brought so-called hospitality, which serves as a place for team dinners and for representative purposes. Racing trucks will arrive on Wednesday.

Autodrome Brno is based mainly on the technical preparation of the track. They must comply with the strict rules of the International Motorcycle Federation. The main organization is in charge of the Czech Grand Prix Association, ie the combined forces of Brno and the South Moravian Region. And mainly from the financial side. “The Association arranges for the Grand Prix to go away,” Ondřej Holík summarizes from his office of the Mayor of Brno.
